Pittman, James L.

James L. Pittman, 65, of Baden, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at his residence, following a lengthy illness.

Born June 14, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James T. and Ruth Welch Pittman, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War. A retired machinist from Herr Voss Corp., Conway, he was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion in Mount Oliver, and Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Conway.

Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife, Jean Egler Pittman; two sons, Timothy, Penn Hills, and David, Pittsburgh; five daughters, Michelle Obarto, Latrobe; Deanna Barry, Cranberry; Tamara, Lansdale, Pa.; Vanessa, Pittsburgh, and Alicia, Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren, two brothers, David, in Florida, and William, Gibsonia, and a sister, Patricia Warrick, Gibsonia.

There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Robert Guay, his pastor, in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Conway, on Tuesday, February 11 at 10 a.m.

Private interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township.

Friends are invited to join the family at Sheraton North, Cranberry, following Mass.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Poland Funeral Home Inc., 901 First Ave., Conway.
